And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
