We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 The human being will certainly experience the agony of death 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ His companion will say: O our Lord! caused him not to transgress but he was himself in error far off. 27 "Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance. 28 "The Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants." 29
