Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
