Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER the daybreak 1 and ten nights (of pilgrimage or the last ten days of Ramadan), 2 By the even and odd (contrasted); 3 and by the night when it moves on towards daybreak (reward and retribution in the next life is an absolute reality). 4 Is there in that an oath for a mindful man? 5 Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the 'Ad (people),- 6 of the columned (city) of Iram, 7 The like of which was not created in the lands; 8 and with the Thamud, who cut out [huge] rocks in the valley, 9 And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? - 10 Who all waxed exorbitant in the cities, 11 And heaped therein mischief (on mischief). 12 and therefore thy Sustainer let loose upon them a scourge of suffering: 13 For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower. 14 Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." 15 But when He tests him by straitening his sustenance, he says: “My Lord has humiliated me.” 16 Nay, but ye (for your part) honour not the orphan 17 And urge not on the feeding of AlMiskin (the poor)! 18 And you eat away the heritage, devouring (everything) indiscriminately, 19 And ye love wealth with inordinate love! 20 No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed - 21 And your Lord comes with the angels in rows, 22 And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him? 23 He will say: “Would that I had sent ahead what would be of avail for this life of mine!” 24 On that Day no one will punish as He punishes, 25 And none can bind as He will bind. 26 'O soul at peace, 27 Return to your Lord, well-pleased (with him), well-pleasing (Him), 28 So enter among My (righteous) servants 29 yea, enter thou My paradise!" 30
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
