So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
