Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ All that is in heavens and earth exalt Allah, the King, the Pure, the Almighty, the Wise. 1 He it is who has sent unto the unlettered people an apostle from among themselves, to convey unto them His messages, and to cause them to grow in purity, and to impart unto them the divine writ as well as wisdom - whereas before that they were indeed, most obviously, lost in error 2 Along with others of them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise. 3 Such is Allah's favour: He bestows it on whomsoever He pleases. Allah is the Lord of abounding favour. 4 The likeness of those who were entrusted with the (obligation of the) Taurat (Torah) (i.e. to obey its commandments and to practise its legal laws), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey who carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them). How bad is the example (or the likeness) of people who deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah. And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers, etc.). 5 Say “O Jews! If you assume that you are Allah’s friends, others are not, then wish for death if you are truthful!” 6 And they will never invoke it because of what their hands have sent before; and Allah is Cognizant of the unjust. 7 Say (to them): "Verily, the death from which you flee will surely meet you, then you will be sent back to (Allah), the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you used to do." 8
