The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Cloaked one, 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then looked he, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
