Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning for people -- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About the criminals, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
