Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
