The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
