The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "When we have become decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And then said, "I am your most supreme lord." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
