Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
