The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the close of night, 17 and brightening morning, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
