The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
