Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Generous and recording, 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
