The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
