The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven with its impregnable castles; 1 by the promised day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
