The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
