Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 and also his wife who carries the fuel, 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
