Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
