Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 And created the jinn before him, from smokeless fire. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 and for all such, behold, hell is the promised goal. 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
