Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
