The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the sun and its morning brightness, 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 By the heaven and That which built it 5 And the earth and Him Who extended it, 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 and inspired it with its sin and its piety, 8 Surely blissful is he who hath cleansed it, 9 And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 What time the greatest wretch of them rose up. 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 He did not fear the consequences. 15

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
