And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
