And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
