Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
