The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the setting star, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 Nor does he speak out of desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 While he was on the uppermost horizon. 7 and then drew near, and came close, 8 he was but two bows' length or even nearer, 9 Thus He revealed unto His bondman whatsoever He revealed. 10 His heart did not lie of what he saw. 11 Will you then argue with him about what he saw? 12 Indeed, he saw him in another descent 13 Near the lote-tree of the last boundary. 14 near which is the Garden of Abode. 15 When the lote-tree was being enveloped, by whatever around it. 16 His sight did not waver nor was it unduly bold. 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: 19 and about the third deity, al-Manat? 20 Is it for you the males and for Him the females? 21 That is indeed an unjust division. 22 These are nothing but names that you and your forefathers have invented, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They are merely following their conjectures and their carnal desires although guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Can ever man get what he desires? 24 But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world). 25
