The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
