The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He has created man: 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
