The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and banana trees, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
