The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
