Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then look again and again. Your gaze will come back to you confused and exhausted. 4 We have adorned the lowest sky with lamps, and made them missiles against the devils, for whom We have prepared a torment of most intense fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear its roaring as it boils up, 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire. 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
