Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
