Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
