The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
