The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 The rising dawn, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
