Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
