Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
