Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets set forth 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
