Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
