Moses said: "Lord! Open my breast for me; 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 Appoint a deputy (for me) from my own people. 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 By him confirm my strength 31 "And make him share my task: 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 and remember you often. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 God said, "You have been granted your request, Moses." 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 when We inspired thy mother with this inspiration: 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 Answered He: "Fear not! Verily, I shall be with you two, hearing and seeing [all]. 46 So go to him and say: 'The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance. 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
