The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 Who guard their sex 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
