The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and so am I: 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
