And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
