He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 to him thou attendest 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And olives and palms 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
Almighty God's Truth.
