The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
