The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
