The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 On a Great Day, 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
