Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 There are some human beings who purchase an enchanting diversion in order to lead people away from the way of Allah without having any knowledge, who hold the call to the Way of Allah to ridicule. A humiliating chastisement awaits them. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 wherein they will live forever. It is the true promise of God. He is Majestic and All-wise. 9 He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
