The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 by the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
